The Church Badminton Group meets in the Church Hall on
Monday nights, excepting the months of June, July and August. As the
hall accommodates only one court there is a natural limit to a number
of players, if everyone is to get a reasonasble number of games. By the
same token, doubles is a usual form played. However, at the time of writing
there are vacanices for one or two men in particular.
There is also a Junior group which is open to 11 - 16 year olds who
attend Church regularly. Tuition is provided for the Juniors, and Senior
members are encouraged to assist in this. Please note that CRB registration
and clearance is required for all adults working with children.
Seniors; Monday 8.00 - 10.00 pm Subscription £1.00 per week.
The group does not belong to any league, although occasional "friendlies" may
be played with groups from other Churches in the area. Fellowship is
an important aspect of the group, with ages ranging from around 20
to 60 - plus. Whilst there is no formal dress code for shirt and shorts,
members are asked not to wear black - soled trainers or pumps out of
respect for the dance floor quailty of the hall and the efforts of
the hall manager.
