Welcome to the Parish Church of St George, Chorley. We hope you find our web site enjoyable and interesting.

The church is in the centre of Chorley which has been a market town since 1498. Chorley is compact in the arrangement of its streets, shops, amenities and leisure facilities, and the scenic variety of Pennine. Moorland to the East and the historic villages of the Lancashire plain to the west, are easily accessible. Map of the Parish

Majestic in its capacious design and originally built to seat 2200 worshippers, our Church welcomes many visitors for special services as well as secular occasions.

Our own weekly congregation includes children who attend Sunday School and who join us part way through the service. Families bringing babies and very young children may like to make use of the CRECHE. This is for the little ones who are too young for Sunday School and it is held at 9.50am every Sunday in the Church Hall - for the first part of the service. The children staying in Church, may like to make use of the Children's Quiet Corner - an informal area set aside with soft toys, books and colouring activities.

Here George the Bear waits to give everyone aGeorge the Bear in the Children's Corner welcome. He also invites all his young friends to join him for their own act of worship at the. Pram Service

If preferred children can take an ACTIVITY BAG to keep them quietly occupied in the pews during services.
