Grant from Lancashire County Council.

In August 2008, Chorley Computer Club secured a grant of £500 from Lancashire County Council under their Local Grants Scheme. The money has been used to buy a digital projector, screen and speakers which will be used for training and presentation purposes.

The Club regularly holds presentations and training events covering many computer-related topics including photo- and video-editing, word-processing and work with spreadsheets. The purchase of a high-quality modern digital projector together with a large screen and speakers will add a huge amount of professionalism to the presentations.

The bid was actively supported by Councillor Mark Perks who officially presented the equipment during October 2008.

The first photograph shows Vice-chairman Jim Vale (far left) demonstrating the equipment to Mark Perks (second-left), ably assisted by Club member Alan Farrington (seated).
The second photograph captures Club members taking a great deal of interest in the proceedings.

Second Grant from Lancashire County Council.

During October 2009, Chorley Computer Club was again pleased to secure a second grant from Lancashire County Council under their Local Grants Scheme. This was for £150 to purchase a high specification modem/router which will help the Club to make the best use of its recently updated broadband internet connection

Once again the bid was actively supported by Councillor Mark Perks who officially presented the equipment during the occasion of the Club’s annual hot-pot supper in December 2009.
